A view to the rearKrist's Review:
Peggy's Café & Catering is so many things to so few people. Torn between being a café, a coffeeshop, or a bar, they really cannot easily be classified as any of the above. Peggy's is very quiet and reserved in a vegan-hipster kind of way. In other words, it's hardly the place anyone with a pulse might visit with any sort of regularity without being shushed and shooed out the door. The décor follows the same routine as the rest of the atmosphere, complete with the high ceiling, the brick walls, the open kitchen, the dimly candlelit tables, and the framed photos for sale mounted on the wall. Oh, and one could not forget the bicycle hanging from the ceiling above the back bar. As far as their alcohol selection is concerned, the liquor itself is mostly limited to that which one might add to coffee drinks, while the beer selection is small and unsatisfying. Peggy's carries no Miller or Budweiser, but does have some of their premium cousins on tap - and a couple more in the bottle. Peggy's is non-smoking with the exception of the bar. Just to prove that Peggy's isn't fully without humor, a caption on a photo of Vince Lombardi above a very low-mounted urinal in the men's room reads, "Who ok'd the height of this urinal?" Peggy's is open 11 am to 11 pm Tuesday through Saturday, 11 am to 3 pm on Monday, and is closed on Sunday.

An unused tableYou might like Peggy's if:
You're looking for a meal before going out drinking at a place like Ravens or if you're looking for coffee drinks other than a convenience store cappucino.

You might not like Peggy's if:
Hanging out in a restaurant reading Thomas Pynchon novels just to pique the interest of a cute waitress isn't your scene.
